However being it’s a semi-automatic you can always spray and pray, but I wouldn’t recommend the practice, because an animal in flight can really play havoc with the backstop for your bullets. It sounds like this model rifle needs full power ammunition to properly work the action, so I suspect it’s going to be jumping around quite a lot with each successive shot, not the best parameter, for accuracy in the field. ![]() 308 I shoot is carbine length, with a short barrel, it’s the first rifle I’ve found that thrives on IMR-3031 powder. Barrel length and powder type can be a factor. 308 I’ve found that the twist ratio of the rifling, lends itself to better accuracy with a shorter projectile than longer once. If you want to drive tacks, a semi-automatic is probably not the best action for doing that, you would be better off with a bolt action. I suspect if it’s the former, reading the other comments, it should be a great little rifle. ![]() What type of accuracy are you looking for, hunting accuracy or tack driving target accuracy. It’s a fickle beast and has more variables than a squid has tentacles. The reason I’m offering my two cents, is I’m always intrigued by questions about accuracy. To be honest, I’ve never owned or shot a Winchester model 100, they’re a nice looking firearm, do you own one or are you thinking of buying one. ![]() Just wondering if anybody has had any experience with this guns accuracy. ![]()
